Job Description:
Define and develop new accounts and opportunities in North America for Industrial & Automation markets for the I&A Strategic Business Platform. Primary focus will be on Servo, Logic & Motion Control, and Visualization Product Technology and Systems for Machine Automation (MA) and Factory Automation (FA).
Job Duties:
- Research, identify and develop new accounts for Delta’s servo motion & control product technologies throughout North America, leveraging pull through of Delta’s corporate wide portfolio for system level value-add.
- Manage, convert and grow a sales funnel of opportunities through strategic business development within target markets and new application/market exploration.
- Develop relationships at a senior level, engaging company’s senior management.
- Responsible for gaining customer acceptance of products by explaining and/or demonstrating product capability. Act as a consultant and offer not only products, but also customized variants, architecture-based systems and platform solutions to extrapolate & uncover unique value propositions.
- Understanding technical & commercial competing barriers within sales scenarios while developing & negotiating counter strategies to gain customer confidence and trust.
- Respond to customers functional and technical RFIs/RFPs, by consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel at Delta.
- Meet annual revenue budgets of sales goals, or specific product/vertical growth initiatives.
- Provide forecasts to guide organizational coverage & synergy.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and collaborative information sharing.
- Harness and triangulate VOC voice-of-customer and market trends to recommend product, platform, and system needs for next generation planning to align with regional multi-year plans.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by proactively attending educational workshops by Delta or 3rd party and seeking market relevance.
Skills/Qualifications:
- BSEE or BSME with 5+ years’ experience in Industrial Automation.
- Working knowledge of Servos, PLC & Motion Controls, Robotics, Safety & Networks.
- Experience with Machine Automation within Packaging, CNC, and Logistics a plus.
- Resolute towards follow up and follow through.
- Pioneering spirit with problem solving mindset.
- Comfortable in a dynamic and technical organization, with a rapidly expanding customer base.
- Ability to implement a personal sales strategy and plan that delivers value & results.
- Ability to identify decision makers and develop close relationships with them.
- Strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to email, RFIs/RFPs, and when submitting reports.
- Organized, analytical, and able to eliminate technical sales obstacles through creative approaches.
- Ability to adapt to Delta’s unique and dynamic culture.
- Ability to travel as needed to customer sites throughout USA (20-60% as needed), or to Delta Global Plants & Facilities.
